Australian Defence Magazine (ADM) is solely dedicated to the business of defence capability and infrastructure procurement and provides a communications bridge between defence industry and its single source customer, the Department of Defence.
ADM reports on the budgetary process, the policy development, the capability planning and the procurement projects which, in coming together, provide the equipment and resources for Australia's defence force. We also provide coverage of our close neighbour, New Zealand, in an annual review of New Zealand defence. We aim to provide knowledgeable coverage of policy, project updates and analysis of defence acquisition strategy that is timely and thought provoking. While the Defence Capability Plan has given the defence realm a timetable and outline of projects to come, there are always changes and updates to be examined by independent sources.
A well-rounded team of correspondents throughout Australia and New Zealand offer reports and insights into these pertinent projects and decisions at every step. Editor Gregor Ferguson, senior correspondent Julian Kerr and ADM specialist reporter Tom Muir provide a depth of knowledge that gives the magazine the ability to effectively communicate across a raft of Defence issues. Each issue of ADM contains a combination of regular reporting of News, Defence Business, Defence Infrastructure (from July 2007), Events, and interviews plus our published features.
Our regular 'From the Source' interview provides an important, high profile platform for senior military, government and industry officials. Interviews in recent issues have included the Chief of the Air Force, Air Marshal Geoff Shepherd AO; Head of the Defence Industry Division in the Department of Defence, Mr Kerry Clarke;
and the CEO of one of Australia's largest defence contractors, Mr Greg Hayes of the Tenix Group. Launched in 1993, ADM now plays a highly influential role in the two-way communications between Defence and its agencies such as the Defence Materiel Organisation and the industry that supports it. ADM is respected for its independence and editorial integrity. |
