Half Hitch
Move your cursor along the numbers below the picture – to see how to tie this knot
   
1. Pass the hook through the tail and again through the main body of the bait.
2. Form a loop in the line.
3. Pass the loop over the tail of the bait.
4. Pull tight to secure bait. Repeat steps 2-4 for a more secure hitch.

Uses: The Half Hitch is used to attach a bait (pilchard, prawn, etc) more securely to the hook and helps keep the bait on the hook longer.

Tying it: This is a very simple and effective knot with multiple uses.
