In
the estuary you only need line of two to three kilograms and from
the beach three to five kilo is fine.
The
best locations to find whiting in an estuary is on the shallow sand
flats and the channels that run between them. Whiting prefer more
sheltered beaches but still look for gutters. Beaches that are close
to an estuary mouth are also very good.
Whiting
feed on the bottom, so your bait should also be on the bottom. Your
sinker, however, needs to be just light enough to allow it move
in the tidal flow of the estuary or in the wash of the beach.
