Sixty years ago, the general aviation community in Australia was clamouring for a publication of their own, rather than be included almost as an afterthought in specialist magazines that focused on heavy commercial and military aviation. In 1963, they got it. Australian Flying was born and immediately hailed as a fantastic idea. Over the six decades since, the GA community has lost none of their enthusiasm for a magazine that is quintessentially their own.

And we have lost none of our enthusiasm for presenting the GA community with the high-quality entertaining, informative and instructive material that they yearn for. We understand the role that Australian Flying has played over the years, and as we prepare to celebrate our 60th anniversary, we are more determined than ever to remain a crucial part of the flying careers of many of Australia’s GA pilots.

It is in that role that Australian Flying has proven valuable also to our advertisers, working for 60 years as a conduit for companies and organisations to get their messages across to pilots and aircraft owners. That’s what we have been, and it is what we will continue to be in the challenging future facing GA.
