Dance Australia is Australia’s leading dance magazine. Established in 1980, Dance Australia has been an integral and much loved part of our country’s thriving dance scene for more than 40 years. Dance Australia celebrates dance as a dynamic, beautiful and vital artform. The magazine is read by professional dancers and dance artists, creatives, dance teachers, students and their parents. It covers classical ballet, contemporary and musical theatre. Our articles include interviews with inspirational dancers and choreographers, advice on nutrition and health, vital dance education issues, news and previews as well as regular reviews by a national team of respected dance writers.
Dance is popular. An average of 3 out of 10 Australians attend dance performances, while the overall participation rate of children is about 14%. There are thousands of dance schools all over the country and hundreds of thousands of participants in dance from amateur to professional level. At Dance Australia, we share the joy of dance with our readers through our lively instagram, facebook, e-news and website as well as our glossy print magazine. Tradition + innovation = Dance Australia.
